Allerton Cat

A service with the biggest heart, Allerton Cat Rescue and its founder, Brenda Satterley have done sterling service in Bradford for 40 years. With the support of her family, Brenda and her band of volunteers rescue, treat, vaccinate, spay, care for, rehabiliate and re-home so many unwanted kittens and cats who would otherwise live miserable, neglected, disease ridden lives and would die miserably - the opposite of what should be, for any animal friend.
In September 2017, the Rescue had to close its doors to new orphans temporarily, just whilst it once again raised the funds for the soaring vet bill and allowed a little breathing space to re-home some more oprphans. Overcrowding can cause immense stress for the cats - not to mention the humans - and funds are always desperately needed.

If you would like to adopt, you would be so welcome, but please do check re-homing times before you call. The rescue is Brenda's home after all and after 40 years of unstinting service, she needs some time to recoup from the needs of so many orphans each day!

Seriously, every little helps, in these circumstances, whether it is a regular donation or a one-off, a few hours of service, a can of cat food donated at the collection centres you see at Supermarkets, items donated (or purchased from) the Rescue's Fund Raising Shop at the Mill, Victoria Road, Eccleshill, proceeds from a fund raise or actual adoption. Just see the Facebook Page for how and where to donate and how to get in touch.

With a vet bill equalling tens of thousands per month, not to mention food, travel and running costs, Brenda and her team have their work cut out to constantly raise funds to enable their work to continue.

A true sevice - not just for the abandoned felines, but for those of you who after bereavement may be in need of a pet to share some space and time with. Or you may need to fill a little time by caring as a volunteer.

Or maybe you are not a cat person at all - but just want to do the right thing by a relative or neighbour's bereaved cat, and find them a good home?

Some of these little ones featured on the left have thankfully found their Forever Home through adoption- but many kittens and cats still wait for the magic day.

Take a look at their Facebook site here.

Every little helps.

40 years of service and the biggest heart has seen so many abandoned cats re-homed. And the fight goes on... but needs help.
